Ecclesiastical Buildings & Contents Summary of Cover

Sums insured and index linking:

It is most important that your sums insured are adequate, otherwise any claim payments may be reduced.
The sums insured will be index linked to help them keep pace with inflation. They are increased monthly free of charge.
The premium at the next renewal date of the policy, will be based on the revised figures.
N.B. Index linking does not apply to caravans, trailers or boats.

Buildings Summary of Standard Cover

Insures your house against damage caused by:-

· Fire, smoke, explosion, lightning and earthquake.

· Riot, civil commotion, strike, and labour or political disturbance.

· Malicious persons. Theft or attempted theft.

· Storm or flood. 

· Escape of water or oil from any domestic water or heating installation.

· Falling trees, branches, telegraph poles or lampposts.

· Impact by animals, vehicles, trains or aircraft.

· Breakage or collapse of any satellite dish, television or radio aerial or mast.

· Frost damage to domestic water or heating installations.

· Subsidence, heave or landslip.

Buildings super cover:

Insures your buildings for all the risks under standard cover plus accidental damage.

Both covers also include:

· Temporary accommodation and loss of rent up to 20% of the sum insured following damage caused by an insured risk.

· Accidental damage to underground pipes and cables.

· Accidental breakage of fixed glass including double glazing, sanitary ware and ceramic hobs or tops.

· Property owners liability - Your liability to the public arising from ownership of your home giving protection up to £2,000,000 if you cause injury to others or damage to their property.

PLEASE NOTE: Malicious damage, escape of water or oil, theft, frost damage and breakage of glass etc, will only be covered for 30 consecutive days after your home is left unfurnished or unoccupied.

BUILDINGS EXCESS: You will be asked to pay the first £50 of each claim (other than for subsidence, heave or landslip where you will be asked to pay the first £1,000 of each claim)

Contents summary of standard cover

Insures your contents while in the home against loss or damage caused by:-

Contents super cover


Insures your contents for all the risks under standard cover plus accidental loss or damage.

Both covers also include:

· Temporary accommodation and loss of rent up to 20% of the sum insured including temporary storage of furniture and the cost of kennel accommodation for domestic cats or dogs, following damage caused by an insured risk.

· Accidental breakage of mirrors, glass tops and fixed glass in furniture and ceramic hobs and tops.

· Loss of oil and/or metered water following accidental damage.

· Accidental damage to radios, televisions (including external aerials, masts and satellite dishes fixed to the building), audio and video equipment and home computers.

· Freezer contents - unlimited cover included free of charge.

· Loss or damage to contents in the garden by any of the risks insured under standard cover - limit £1,000.

· Accidental loss or damage to contents during household removal.

· Up to £5,000 following death within 3 months, as a direct result of fire or accident in the home, or accident as a fare paying passenger or assault anywhere in the British Isles.

Also included are:-

· Replacement of keys and locks following theft of keys from the home - limit £300.

· Jury service - financial loss up to £20 per day or £400 in total.

· Warranty replacement - the cost of purchasing a replacement warranty following a total loss of an insured item by an insured risk.

· Full cost of preparing new title deeds to the home following loss or damage by an insured risk.

· Temporary increases - the contents sum insured will be increased by 10% for:-
a) The period 1st December to 10th January.
b) One month before and one month after the wedding of any resident member of the family.

· Tenants liability up to 20% of the contents sum insured any one claim.

· Employers liability for domestic employees - up to £2,000,000.

· Occupiers and personal liability up to £2,000,000 in respect of your liability for injury to others or damage to their property.

· Unsatisfied and irrecoverable court awards in your favour up to £2,000,000.

· Personal money - limit £500

· Credit cards - unlimited.

BASIS of CLAIM SETTLEMENT

New for old - except for clothing and household linen for which wear and tear will be deducted.

Contents - Optional Extensions

Personal Possessions: Accidental loss or damage to valuables, personal effects and clothing anywhere in the British isles - also world wide for up to 60 days    in any one period of insurance. Excess £50.

Touring caravans: Accidental loss or damage to touring caravans including trailer tents and luggage trailers. Excess £50.

Boats: Accidental loss or damage to boats up to 5 metres in length with a maximum speed of 15 knots - including surfboards and sailboards. Excess £50.

NOTE: The cover for touring caravans and boats applies anywhere in the British Isles, also anywhere in Europe for up to 60 days in any one period of insurance.

Domestic Pets - Cats and Dogs. Cover is available for domestic pets between the ages of 3 months and 8 years for:- 

· Death following accidental bodily injury up to the sum insured.

· Veterinary fees up to £250.

· Recovery costs up to £50.

· Boarding kennel fees up to £200 following your hospitalisation.

Excess £50 in respect of veterinary fees.

POLICY EXCLUSIONS

These are some of the main exclusions. The Policy details all the exclusions.

Contents
- Business goods
- Collision damage caused by domestic animals
- Mechanically or electrically propelled vehicles other than motorised domestic gardening equipment

Buildings
- Storm or flood damage to fences, gates or hedges.

Personal Belongings
- Theft from vehicles unless from a locked boot, luggage compartment or glove compartment

What is covered:
Composite Legal Expenses Ltd will institute legal proceedings on your behalf to seek compensation in connection with:
Consumer disputes involving the sale, purchase or hire of goods or services, including the sale or purchase of the home.
ii) Civil claims relating to physical damage to the home.
iii) Claims arising from your personal injury or death except when involving a motor vehicle owned by you or for which you are legally responsible.
